From 1994 to 2001, he was the Sam Bloomfield Distinguished Professor and Executive Director of the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University in Kansas. From 1978 to 1994, he was the Program Director and McDonnell Douglas Fellow at McDonnell Douglas Research Laboratories in St. Louis. Dr. Agarwal received Ph.D in Aeronautical Sciences from Stanford University in 1975, M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1969 and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 1968.He is the author and coauthor of over 460 publications. Octavian Buiu is a graduate of the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest (specialization: Nuclear Materials and Fuels), with a PhD in Atomic and Molecular Physics awarded by the “Babes-Bolyai” University of Cluj in 1998.Octavian has more than 30 years’ experience in research and development, in private and public institutions: R&D Institute for Nuclear Power Reactors, R&D Institute for Electronic Components, Institute of Microtechnology (currently National Institute for R&D inMicrotechnologies), and Honeywell Romania (Sensors and Wireless Laboratory) - Romania. Between 1997 and 2007, he worked in United Kingdom as research associate, fellow, and senior fellow at De Montfort University (Leicester) and University of Liverpool (Liverpool). In 2002 he has appointed as Lecturer in Electrical Eng. Department, University of Liverpool. Throughout his career, Octavian served as deputy scientific director at IMT Bucharest (1994-1997), Portfolio Manager and Senior Technology Manager at Honeywell Romania – Advanced Technology (2007-2014 and 2014-2017, respectively). He is co-founder and CEO of BIS INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT, a start-up established in 2017 which is active in the field of consulting for sensors, smart systems, and IoT applications.

Octavian has more than 70 papers in ISI journals, as well as more than 100 papers and presentations at National and International Conferences, covering topics related to thin films synthesis and characterization, electronic devices architectures, sensors.He is author and co-author in 20 book chapters and co-author of 23 granted US and EU patents; Octavian is an IEEE and American Vacuum Society member.

Prof./Dr. Jean-Paul Lellouche has completed his PhD at the age of 26 years from University Claude Bernard/La Doua (Lyon, France). He is the responsible of a Bar-Ilan University (Dpt of Chemistry & Nanomaterials Research Center, Institute of Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials (BINA) academic research team since July 2008. He has published 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers in various journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of significant 4 scientific journals.

Gilbert George Lonzarich born in 1945 and he is a solid-state physicist. Currently he is serving to the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. The research of Gil Lonzarich focuses on solids where the interaction between electrons can lead to unconventional states of matter. His work has addressed different material classes, including itinerant magnets (such as MnSi), heavy-fermion materials, and ferroelectrics. One groundbreaking result for the field of unconventional super conductivity was the demonstration that the suppression of antiferromagnetic order in heavy-fermion materials, i.e. a quantum-critical point, can induce superconductivity. He is honored with many Prestigious awards Fellow of the Royal Society, Rumford Medal, EPS Euro physics Prize, Max Born Prize.

Terry Alford received his PhD in materials science and engineering from Cornell University in 1991. He joined the ASU faculty in 1993 and is currently a professor in the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department and an affiliate professor in the Electrical Engineering Department. His teaching interests include X-ray and electron diffraction, introduction to physical materials science and laboratory, structure and properties of materials, advanced materials issues in semiconductor processing, and materials processing and synthesis.

Dr. Liu's primary interests lie in fundamental understanding of the effect of structure, defects, and microstructure on transport and electrical properties of surfaces and interfaces. In particular, he is interested in developing new materials for energy storage and conversion, for chemical sensing, and for hydrogen production and separation In addition, he is interested in mathematical modeling of mass and charge transport in solid electrochemical systems and polarization at interfaces. Dr. Liu's current research activities include (1) in-situ characterization of gas-solid interactions using FTIR/Raman spectromicroscopy, impedance spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry; (2) study of transport phenomena and kinetics in ionic and electronic conductors and the effect of imperfections on electrophysical and electrochemical properties; (3) fabrication and characterization of ceramic membranes, thin films, and coatings; mesoporous and nanostructured electrodes and interfaces; and solid-state ionic devices; and (4) development of new materials for high-selectivity gas sensors, for high-energy-density batteries, for low-temperature solid-state fuel cells, and for high temperature PEM fuel cells. Dr. Liu holds 20 U.S. patents and a number of patent applications, co-edited seven proceedings volumes, and published more than 250 papers in reputed journals, book chapter, and conference proceedings. He has also been the co-organizer of 11 international symposia/workshops on materials for energy storage and conversion devices, sensors, and gas separation. Dr. Liu is a fellow of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Yuichi Setsuhara received his Dr. Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Osaka University in 1991. He joined Welding Research Institute, Osaka University as Research Associate in 1991, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University as Associate Professor in 2001, and has been a professor in Joining and Welding Research Institute, Osaka University since 2004. He is currently a Director of Smart Processing Research Center (SPRC) and a Vice Director of Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University since 2014. He has published more than 150 papers in SCI journals and has been serving as board members of several committees such as International Scientific Committee for International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering and International Advisory Board for the journal “Plasma Processes and Polymers”.

His research interests include the followings; development of novel plasma sources for advanced processing technologies; development of novel large-area, low-damage and high-density plasma sources for flexible electronics and thin-film electronics devices; studies on plasma-materials interactions for development of advanced processing technologies; studies on temporal and spatial control of discharge for development of innovative atmospheric-pressure plasma sources for plasma medicine.

Ik Jin Kim was born on 1959 in the province of Gapyung, South Korea. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Science from the Department of Inorganic Materials Science and Engineering at Myung Ji University, South Korea. In 1987 he obtained his Master of Science from the Department of Inorganic Materials Science and Engineering at Han Yang University, Seoul South Korea. In 1992 he earned his Dr.-Ing in Structural Ceramics from the Department of Inorganic Materials Science and Engineering at Technical University of Aachen, RWTH, Germany. His research field was Thermal Shock Resistant and Mechanical Properties of Aluminum Titanate-mullite and Powder Preparation by Sol-gel Process. From 1992-1993, he was a Lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Danguk University. He was also a Research Group Leader in the Institute of Carbon Chemistry at Seoul National University of Education, Seoul, South Korea where he acquired his experience in carbon structure and the engineering of carbon chemical process. Since March 1994, he is a Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Hanseo University, Director of the Institute for Processing and Application of Inorganic Materials Science and Engineering (PAIM) and concurrently as Director of Chungnam Advanced-Fabrication Technology Innovation Center (CATIC) and at the Institute of Advanced Ceramics for Semiconductor (IACS) at BIEMT Ltd. His research interests are in advanced ceramics for high temperature application and renewable energy materials which include the synthesis of carbon nanotubes, host-guest materials, as well as the analysis and simulation of molecular level composites. He is the author and co-author of over one hundred fifty (250) journal publications and presented numerous international conference papers. He was a reviewer of four (4) Scientific Journals and has regularly refereed papers for various conferences. From 2007-2008, he was a guest Professor in a research group of Professor Ludwig Gauckler at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also a poet.

His research interests are in advanced ceramics for high temperature application and renewable energy materials which include the synthesis of carbon nanotubes, host-guest materials, as well as the analysis and simulation of molecular level composites

Chang-Seop Lee received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea in 1979 and 1981, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree from Oregon State University, U.S.A., in 1991. Presently, He is a chemistry professor in Keimyung University, South Korea. He has published more than 125 research papers and 14 books, and also enrolled 37 patents in the fields of surface chemistry, electrochemistry, sensors chemistry, rubber chemistry, fiber chemistry and composite materials. He is the vice president of Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (Daegu regional Federation).

Nikolai A. Sobolev received the PhD degree with honours from the University of Jena (Germany) in 1978. Then he worked as a Professor and Researcher in Minsk, Belarus. Since 2005 he has been an Associate Professor at University of Aveiro, Portugal. He held Visiting Professor / Invited Scientist positions at the Technical Universities of Berlin and Gdansk, Universities of Jena and Ulm, University “MISiS” of Moscow. N.A.S. has been working on ion implantation, defects in semiconductors and quantum-size semiconductor structures, magnetic nanostructures, composite multiferroics and resistive switching devices. N.A.S. has (co)authored over 150 articles in refereed journals, six USSR patents, three book chapters. He has been chair / co-chair or committee member of more than 30 scientific conferences. Currently N.A.S. is a member of the Board of Delegates of the European Materials Research Society, editorial board member of seven scientific journals and coordinator of a European project.

Dr. Lucian Baia is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics and Advanced Technologies at the Faculty of Physics of the “Babes-Bolyai” University (BBU) of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is also the Head of the Institute of Research-Development-Innovation in Applied Natural Sciences from BBU. His interdisciplinary activities bridge across research fields related to the obtaining and characterization of nanoarchitectures and materials with controllable morphology and structure for environmental and biomedical applications. Dr. Baia published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers, three books, five book chapters, 4 patent applications, has an h-index of 23, and is serving as editorial board member for several scientific journals. He was awarded the “Constantin Miculescu” Prize of the Romanian Academy (2017) as well as Prizes of BBU for Scientific Excellence (2014 and 2017), Comenius Prize (2012), and STAR Advanced Fellowships for research (2016).

Sofoklis is a tenured Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources Management, University of Patras in Greece & senior visiting fellow at Loughborough University, Uk. He was till 2013, a Lecturer in the Department of Engineering, Sports and Sciences at Bolton University and associated member in IMRI & IREET Institutes. He is a physicist while he received the MEng in 2002 and the PhD in 2004 in fields of Materials Science and Engineering (NanoMagnetic Materials). His Postdoc research has been accomplished on Materials for Hydrogen Storage by having a fellowship from the State Scholarships Foundation while he holds an MBA in spin-offs. The last decade gives lectures more than ten hours per week by covering physics, materials science and technology, hydrogen technologies, energy and innovation. He serves as Editor-in-Chief at Challenges (MDPI) and at Verizona Publishing Ltd, London. He is involved in the Editorial Board of Materials (MDPI), Open Chemistry (DeGruyterOpen), of the Scientific Reports of the Nature Publishing Group, and Heliyon of Elsevier. He is a Member of the IEEE Magnetics Society and Materials Research Society. Sofoklis has collaboration with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California regarding Hydrogen storage and CO2 capture. He has more than 65 publications in international journals, international conference proceedings and book chapters. He has been involved in at least 12 EU/USA funded research programs, in many of which as a principal investigator or a leader. He has more than 10 invited lectures in Research Centers and Universities and 5 invited lectures in conferences overseas in the last 5 years. He chaired more than 5 international Conferences. His curriculum vitae has been cited in Marquis Who’s Who in the World (2010) and selected as one of the leading achievers from around the globe. Since 2011 he is in the Management Committee of three EU Cost actions. He is an expert collaborative partner in Materials-Energy-Environment with long consultancy in Uk, EU, USA, China companies.

Dr El-Mahallawi is currently the Director of the Centre for Renewable Energy at the British University in Egypt which is contributing to the teaching and education and research activities in Egypt, energy efficiency in metallic industries, as well as being incorporated in social projects aiming at implementing renewable energy resources for subserviced and ruler areas in Egypt. She has also contributed in a number of field projects in production by rolling and casting, thermo-mechanical treatment, failure analysis, manufacturing of spare parts, as well as continuous industrial education projects for engineers and workers. She is also the coordinator for one of the National Standardization committees.

Dr El-Mahallawi’s research interests are in: energy materials (thermal solar selective absorbers, fuel cells bi-polar electrodes, thermal storage,etc.), engineering metallurgy (heat treatment, effect of production parameters, effect of alloying, etc.. on mechanical properties, failure analysis case studies, non-metallic inclusions and effect of steel cleanliness on properties of steel), modeling for metallurgical fields, conventional casting and continuous casting (technology, solidification), semi-solid casting and metal matrix composites produced by semi-solid casting, using nano-material for re-enforcement (surface and bulk nano-composites).

Abourriche’s specialist areas are the development of original natural resources such as Moroccan oil shale. He also worked as Project Manager entitled: Solvent Extraction of organic matter of oil shale. Study and Promotion of the oils produced. This project is funded by Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology. In 2008 he took on the role of Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at National School of Applied Sciences Safi. He is the author of over 30 publications in international journals and conference proceedings refereed and a hundred oral presentations or by posters. He is the member of scientific and organizing committees of several national and international conferences
